Increasing College Graduation Rates For Low Income Students

Overcoming Adversity

Less than 20% of students who begin community college graduate within four to six years, and students from low income families are seven times more likely to drop out.

Education Partnership

CCFW partnered with the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO) at the University of Notre Dame to create Stay the Course (STC), a research project to evaluate how case management can help low-income students persist and ultimately graduate.

Wrap-Around Case Management

In our Wrap-Around Case Management Program, each student is given a Navigator that works with them one-on-one to manage obstacles and move forward with their individual goals.

Emergency Financial Assistance

Each student has access to emergency financial assistance for unforeseen events, such as a broken down car or medical expense.

We can’t end homelessness by counting the number of shelter beds we fill or end poverty for a family by signing them up for government benefits.

Encounter & Engage Clients

At the Hope Center, our staff encounters and engages clients by providing an experience that emphasizes hope and hospitality, assists with immediate needs, and engages clients to long term holistic case management.

Individualized Pathway Out of Poverty

Clients begin working with a case manager who will work with them to create an individualized pathway out of poverty. We focus on holistic personal long-term guidance that enables each client to reach their goal of overcoming poverty.

Services to Overcome Poverty

Clients have access to job training opportunities, credit counseling, housing aid, food & hygiene products, furniture, medical assistance, tuition assistance, vocational guidance, parenting education, and homelessness prevention assistance.

solutions that are replicable and scalable. Examples of results:
